Taiwanese technology giant Foxconn will replace some of its workers with 1 million robots in three years to cut rising labor expenses and improve efficiency, said Terry Gou, founder and chairman of the company, late Friday.

The company currently employs 1.2 million people, with about 1 million of them based on the Chinese mainland.

— But then, if nobody earns its life, who will purchase the stuff being made by the robots?
— First, it is not as if chinese workers, even when they were working and earned wages I mean, were ever able to purchase iToys or high end electronics, so why worry? Second, if it ever becomes a problem–if this labour outsourcing to robots ever happens to occidental workers, the very same people who are our consumers–there is an obvious and easy solution : replace the consumers with other robots. And there is a bonus: robots don’t vote.
