Societies eventually develop antibodies to addictive new things. I’ve seen that happen with cigarettes.

Il a fallu un certain temps — de l’ordre de 100 ans. Et à moins que la vitesse à laquelle évoluent les anticorps sociaux s’accroissent pour correspondre au rythme toujours plus élevé auquel le progrès technologique nous balance de nouvelles dépendances, nous deviendrons de moins en moins capables de nous protéger. Considérer toute nouvelle chose comme suspecte pourrait bien devenir une stratégie raisonnable.
