Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and chairman Bill Gates both argued against a shareholder’s suggestion that it may be “time to consider breaking the company up.” During a meeting with a number of shareholders, Ballmer proclaimed such a move would not be useful and might inadvertently lead to “economic dis-synergies.”\n

Si on y pense, ce ne serait pas stupide que Microsoft se scinde. D’\u00eatre moins monolithique, cela lui donnerait peut-\u00eatre l’occasion de retrouver une certaine souplesse et la capacit\u00e9 de bouger rapidement ?<\/p>\n\n

Et puis, de scinder \u00e0… s’amputer, il n’y a qu’une urgence m\u00e9dicale qui fait la diff\u00e9rence : se scinder, ce serait se pr\u00e9parer sur le long terme \u00e0 se d\u00e9barrasser des branches potentiellement moribondes \u2014 \u00e0 chacun d’imaginer quels secteurs d’activit\u00e9 pourraient bien ainsi \u00eatre en danger de mort chez Microsoft.
